The Nursery Sunday School is offered for children who are infants-age 4. This class meets in the church nursery.
Pre-K & Kindergarten
Barb Scheur and Carolyn Bollman teach the PreK/K class (ages 4-6). This Sunday School class is designed for children who are in Kindergarten now or will be in Kindergarten next year. They start out with playtime, have a lesson, do a craft, and snack time. One year they have lessons on ABC’s of the bible and the next year is colors in the bible, parables, and character.
In Son City (grades 1-5) we have four different Sunday School classes for each of the eight bible units. We have a movie theater where children watch a short video with popcorn and participate in a group discussion about the video. There is a creation station where the kids create an art project about each unit. Temple school shares the bible stories related to each unit in detail and includes activities. Lastly, we have a drama room. This is an interactive approach where the children will act out each story with costumes or puppets. All groups are split up by grade levels and they will rotate over four weeks so everyone has a chance to visit each room.
Kingdom Kids Preschool (ages 4-5) opened in 2005 as a mission of the United Presbyterian Church, offering an excellent faith based preschool experience for young children and their families in the Washington area. They meet Monday through Thursday, 8:30-11:30 am.

CREW is a program for 6th-8th graders. They meet two Sunday afternoons each month. They are spending their time teaching kids about how God is found in everyday lives. CREW kids are building relationships with other kids through many activities, and we are also doing local mission work. So far, they have prepared and served food at the Drive-In Diner, shopped for HACAP and packaged meals, done outside work for others, made crafts and visited a nursing home to share gifts, and volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City. They will continue to find other places that CREW kids can do God's work. CREW kids will also have the opportunity to attend YouthQuake in Cedar Rapids, which is a place for many youth in many areas to gather and learn about God.
Over the summer, Crew Fridays will meet for half a day of serving God with local service trips and the other half of the day for fun together as a group. Check back for dates.
Middle School Sunday School
Jordan Youngman teaches the Middle School Sunday School Class (grades 6-8). The lessons are based upon a 3 year rotation of lessons designed to allow students to "encounter Jesus through creative, thought-provoking conversations". These conversations are aided by the sharing of donuts, muffins, or the occasional breakfast pizza.
Inside Out (grades 9-12) meets every Sunday at 6:30 p.m. to have fun with games and discussions about where God is in their lives. Some of the activities include 9 Square in the Air, Gaga Ball, Corn Maze, Whiteboard Pictionary, shopping for HACAP, and more. Each year they go on a retreat in the Fall and Winter for group bonding and faith building. This group of high schoolers puts together lots of fun events including a soup supper, mission market, and they have a formal Christmas Dinner. Every summer Inside Out goes on a two-week out-of-state mission trip.
High School Sunday School
Krista Gaal teaches High School Sunday School (grades 9-12). The lessons start over doughnuts and juice with where God was seen throughout the week. This leads to the discussions of the modern book study on situations and issues that may be relevant to high school students.
